Organization for Aid to Refugees (OPU)

Organization for Aid to Refugees (OPU) was established in 1991 in Prague as a non-profit, non-governmental, humanitarian organization. Since 2014, OPU has been an association under the Civil Code.

OPU has been helping refugees and foreigners in the Czech Republic for 25 years.

OPU’s main activities include providing free legal and social counselling to applicants for international protection and to other foreigners in the Czech Republic, organizing training programmes for both professionals and the general public, and other activities aimed at promoting integration of foreigners.

One of the OPU’s goals is to fight against xenophobia and racial and ethnic intolerance.

Step Forward

Step Forward is a civil society organization established in 2015, with the aim to endorse the civic engagement of youth and the intercultural dialogue and ideas exchange between people from different countries. Ever since its establishment, Step Forward has created and run the only media platform for positive news in Bulgaria – uspelite.bg. Through its media platform, Step Forward strives to uphold inclusive values, such as tolerance, mutual understanding and human rights activism.

International Organization for Migration (IOM)

Established in 1951, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) is the principal intergovernmental organization in the field of migration. IOM’s mandate is to help ensure the orderly and humane management of migration, to promote international cooperation on migration issues, to aid in the search for practical solutions to migration problems, and to provide humanitarian assistance to migrants in need, be they refugees, displaced persons or other uprooted people.

Vojvodina Civic Centre (VCC)

Vojvodina Civic Centre (VCC) was formally founded in 2008 and for a certain period it operated as an activist network. Since 2011 implements projects VCC in three program sectors:

  • Rule of law, transitional justice and dealing with the past
  • Informal education for youth
  • Activism for human rights protection

VCC’s work is based on four basic values: truth, justice, solidarity and responsibility.

Youth Alliance – Krusevo (YAK)

Youth Alliance – Krusevo (YAK) is an independent, non-governmental and non-political organization established in 1999. The members are young people between 15 and 35, who work, study or express an interest in processes of EU integration of FYR Macedonia. YAK is run by young people for young people, enabling a strong experience to all its stakeholders.
