Story:

This is money from Libya called dinar. These are two dinars. In Libya I met someone who became important to me. He was from Guinea, we became close friends and we wanted to do this long trip together and we thought of sharing something. I gave him two dinars and he gave me two dinars to remember us forever.

I have been keeping the 2 dinars for five or six years. As soon as I think of something, I look at this money and I remember him. He lost his life. I keep the dinars with me so I don’t forget him. This money represents the memory of him and of our friendship. For me he was such a friend that when I was in difficulty, he would give me a hand and when he was in difficulty I would give him a hand too. He was like a brother.

Friendship remains forever, together with the memories of old times. In life ties have value. This money is always with me. Every time I leave, I take it with me. I put them in my diary, even when I go to Naples, Milan, Sardinia, they are always with me.

This money also reminds me that if there weren’t these borders, my friend would still be alive.
