That morning, they woke up and left in a hurry. They did not make the beds… They did not water the basils… Each one of them could bring along only what he/she loved… This mirror was for shaving, from the grandfather who came from Vourla.

Stamatis Bakirtzis kept a shop in Vourla, that created and sold copper utensils (bakiria). After the Catastrophe of Asia Minor he arrived to Piraeus, where he worked in the port as a docker until he became a pensioner for shaving.
