Story:

I have this very weird thing, because working as an international artist in a precarious world, one goes to a lot of places when one is lucky and privileged, so I always keep my metro cards from different places with me.

When I return to a place, like Athens in this case, I have my card from that place. I’ve had my Athenian card for three years. I’m based in Berlin, but I remember what this card symbolises for me; it keeps me connected to this place.

In this way, I’m not just an alien ship, arriving and then leaving. This is my non-alien card. I also have one from Santiago in Chile, one from Paris and one from Ciudad in Mexico.

We need to invest in public funding and public transportation so that everybody can travel like this. As an artist who also tried to work in the political field, I try to think about how we can make it accessible and not only something for the few.
