Story:
I always dreamed of being a director and having my films shown at festivals. After working hard on several projects, I was finally awarded at a major festival. It was a huge moment for me—a recognition of years of effort and sacrifice.
But now, when I look at that award, I feel a mix of pride and sadness. It reminds me of a time when there was hope, when there were festivals and opportunities in Afghanistan. Today, everything has changed. The country has no space for art anymore, and there’s no place for me to return to. That award, once a symbol of my dreams, now feels like a reminder of what’s been lost.
