Story:

I am quite interested in cyborgism, identity modification and interconnectivity. Ever since I was a child, I had this weird obsession with one day being able to transform into a computer. I was 7 when I had these imaginations, so I don’t know exactly in what form I wanted that to be, but I was quite obsessed with it.

My dad had to promise me, most days, “don’t worry, one day you will be able to become a computer”. I don’t know if that’s still the life that I want. I definitely think a lot about this interconnectivity.

Also, I’ve naturally formed very close ties throughout my life with people who don’t live in the same location as me. So, there’s this kind of connection through technology, because of this. In order to feel closer to these people who also tend to be ones that I feel quite creative with and who help me in my artistic practice, I started making jewellery in quite a witchy way that kind of has a part of them in it.

For example, I don’t have it with me, but I have one heart-shaped clay necklace that, inside, has some hair that one of my friends sent me in the post. Here, I have two rings; one made by my friend Angel, which was also meant to be linked to hydrofeminism and has these water elements to it, as well as a drop of their tears in it. The other one is made by my friend Aurora, and it has a drop of their blood in it. I really like being aware that I’m kind of wearing part of my friends and family, and it makes me feel very connected to them, even though we’re all far away from each other.
