I missed Bulgaria and my personal connection with the homeland, so in 2015 I decided to join the London Bulgarian Choir. The choir consists mostly of foreigners and just about 1/3 of the members are actually Bulgarians. Singing Bulgarian songs abroad happened to be a magnificent feeling. This is the traditional dress which I wore at one of my most memorable performances with the choir. Just imagine the mix between folklore songs, classical music, jazz, Balkan rhythms – all in one! I embrace the idea that foreigners could sing Bulgarian songs, love and spread our culture. At the same time, all of us living abroad could embrace and rTraditional dressespect their traditions. This is my vision for human fulfilment and continuity that we learn after we leave our birthplace.
